Optimus Digital Future has partnered with Microsoft implementing partner – Wootlab Foundation to empower Africans with the digital skills required to excel in the present digital age.
Optimus Digital Future is a non-profit organization with a mission to democratize the knowledge of artificial intelligence, bridging the knowledge gap and empowering individuals and communities to thrive in an AI-driven world.
Optimus Digital Future aims to achieve this through the delivery of four programs: AI Advocacy, AI Skill Up, Optimus Academy, and Talent Accelerator Program.
Wootlab Foundation is a non-profit organisation that leverages technology to promote inclusive and quality education for out-of-school children and youths in Africa, thereby advancing sustainable development goals in promoting employability and technology-related labour export and decent work for economic growth.
As Microsoft’s implementing partner, Wootlab Foundation is committed to ensuring a meaningful execution of the digital skills training programme across Nigeria.
The collaboration aims to integrate Microsoft’s comprehensive digital skills’ curriculum into the Optimus Academy Program, providing beneficiaries with an all-around foundation in technology and entrepreneurship.
Wootlab Foundation will provide curated Microsoft course content for the Optimus Academy Program, which will cover a wide range of essential digital skills, including productivity tools, basic digital literacy, soft skills, sustainability, generative AI, cybersecurity, entrepreneurship, digital marketing, and administrative professionalism.
On its part, Optimus Digital Future is set to incorporate Microsoft’s course content into the Optimus Academy Program. The partnership will enhance the quality of courses offered by Optimus Academy and drive the digital skills development of its beneficiaries.
“This partnership with Optimus Digital Future is a game-changer for youth across Africa. By combining our focus on foundational digital skills with Optimus Digital Future’s expertise in AI, we are creating a platform for young Africans to not only acquire essential digital competencies, but also to develop the innovative mindset needed to succeed in the 21st-century economy. Together, we are empowering the next generation of African leaders”, Chioma Okoro, Chief Executive Officer at Wootlab Foundation.
Gbemi Akande, Global President, Optimus Digital Future, commented, “At Optimus Digital Future Our goal is to provide on-demand data science and AI education and custom AI training modules for students and professionals. We want to leverage AI knowledge to empower and transform individuals and businesses across Africa.
Our partnership with Wootlab Foundation is a crucial step towards achieving this goal across Africa. We believe that the ecosystem we are creating through the ODF targets the two weakest links in the global talent supply chain namely – home-bred technical skills and the rise of emerging industries without smokestacks.
With Wootlab backed by Microsoft, we are creating a holistic learning experience that empowers young Africans to become the architects of their future and active participants in the global digital economy.”
“We are happy to partner with Microsoft implementing partner – Wootlab Foundation to empower the next generation of African leaders with digital skills. By integrating Microsoft’s comprehensive curriculum into the Optimus Academy Program, we are creating a massive learning experience that equips young Africans with both technical expertise and essential life skills. This partnership is a significant step towards building a digitally skilled and sustainable Africa.”, Moyinoluwa Joseph, Country Program Manager, Optimus Digital Future.
Through this partnership, Wootlab Foundation and Optimus Digital Future aim to equip thousands of Africans with the digital skills necessary to secure employment, start businesses, and contribute to the continent’s economic growth and sustainable development.
