Optimus Digital Future in partnership with CAIN Africa recently empowered 50 underserved children in Lagos State with knowledge of artificial intelligence and its applications through the Akaeze Summer Program 2024.
The Akaeze Summer Program 2024 is an innovative initiative aimed at democratizing artificial intelligence (AI) knowledge among underprivileged youth.
This year’s edition is themed “Artificial Intelligence”, providing 50 underserved children with essential skills for a tech-driven future. Optimus Digital Future was on the ground to facilitate a Saturday session titled, “AI In The Society”.
The session aimed to provide a clear understanding of what AI is and how it functions, showcase how AI is used in various ways in society, and instill confidence in underserved children to utilize AI tools effectively.
The Summer Program offers an interactive and immersive experience, equipping participants with practical AI tools and applications.
This partnership brings together CAIN Educational Foundation’s commitment to creating opportunities for underprivileged children and Optimus Digital Future’s mission to bridge the AI knowledge gap through its AI Skill Up program.
“This initiative represents a vital initiative in bridging the digital divide and ensuring that underprivileged youth are not left behind in the emerging AI-driven world.“, said Moyinoluwa Joseph, Country Lead, Optimus Digital Future
“At different levels, you will see that people are in need, that’s why we are here today to cater to this need”, commented Jesse Isagbah, Programs Manager, CAIN Africa. “The bulk of work is related to providing access to quality education for impact and the Akaeze summer program is one of the ways we achieve this.”
The 50 underserved children will also gain access to Optimus Digital Future’s e-learning platform, Optimus Academy, to support the development of digital skills, as well as a complimentary 3-month subscription to the AI-powered platform – Ziki.
